A simple fingerstyle arrangement of a very pretty song - sung by Linda T., as was, on the album "I Want to See the Bright Lights Tonight". R.T. has a great knack for writing very authentic-sounding "traditional" songs - "How Will I Ever Be Simple Again" being another of my own favourites. I like his later style too, but the early stuff still moves me most. One verse and coda transcribed. All comments very welcome. ----------------- Withered and Died ----------------- By Richard Thompson Dropped 'D' tuning: DADGBE e e e e e e e e e e e e e -||---5--|---5-----------5h7--|---5-----------------|------------------- -||------|---7--------7-------|---7-----8--------7--|------------------- -||------|---7-----7----------|---7--------7--------|------------------- -||------|------0-------------|------0--------0-----|------------------- -||------|--------------------|---------------------|------------------- -||------|---0----------------|---0-----------------|------------------- slowly arp. arp. s s e e e q e e e e e e q Q e -----------------|---------------------|-----------|-------------------- -5h7-p5--------5\|---3-----2-----0-----|-----5--7--|-------------------- -7----------7----|---0--------0-----0--|-----------|-------------------- ---------0-------|------0--------------|--7--------|-------------------- -----------------|---------------------|--0--------|-------------------- -0---------------|---5-----------------|-----------|-------------------- arp. arp. e e q e e e e Q e e s s e e e e ----------------|---------3--2--|---2h3p2p0--------5--|----------------- -7--------------|---0-----------|---------------------|----------------- -7--------------|---0-----------|---2-----------------|----------------- -------0--------|------0--------|---------------2-----|----------------- ----0-----0-----|---------------|---0--------4--------|----------------- -0-----------0--|---5-----------|---------------------|----------------- arp. arp. arp. e e e e e e e e e e e e s s e e e q -5-----------5h7--|---5-----------------|-------------------|----------- -7--------7-------|---7-----8--------7--|---5h7-p5--------5\|----------- -7-----7----------|---7--------7--------|---7----------7----|----------- ----0-------------|------0--------0-----|-----------0-------|----------- ------------------|---------------------|-------------------|----------- -0----------------|---0-----------------|---0---------------|----------- arp. arp. arp. e e e e q q q q e Q q e e e e e e ---------------|-----------|-----------|--------------------|----------- -0-------------|-----5--5--|---5h8--7--|---------------7h8--|----------- -0-----0-------|-----------|---6-------|---7--------7-------|----------- ----0----------|--7--------|---7-------|---0-----0----------|----------- ----------4\2--|--0--------|---0-------|------0-------------|----------- -5-------------|-----------|-----------|---0----------------|----------- arp. arp. arp. q e e e e e e e e e e e e e e q ----------0h2--|---3-----------3--3--|---3--------5/7--|---------------- -7-------------|---0--------0--------|---0-------------|---------------- -7-----7-------|---0-----0-----------|---0-----0-------|---------------- ----0----------|------0--------------|------0----------|---------------- ---------------|---------------------|-----------------|---------------- -0-------------|---5-----------------|---5-------------|---------------- arp. arp. arp. e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e -5-----------------|---------------5h7--|---5----------------|---------- -7-----7-----------|---5--------5-------|---7--------7--3/5--|---------- -7--------------7--|---6-----6----------|---7-----7----------|---------- ----0--------0-----|---7--7-------------|------0-------------|---------- -------------------|---0----------------|--------------------|---------- -0--------0--------|--------------------|---0----------------|---------- arp. arp. arp. e e q q e e e e e e h e e e e e e e e ------------|--------------------|------r--5--|---5-----------5h7--|---- -5--------5\|---3-----0----------|------e-----|---7--------7-------|---- -6-----6----|---0-----------0h2--|---2--s-----|---7-----7----------|---- -7--7-------|------0-----0-------|---2--t-----|------0-------------|---- -0----------|--------------------|---0--------|--------------------|---- ------------|---5----------------|------------|---0----------------|---- arp. arp. arp. arp. e e e e e e s s e e e q e e e e q -5-----------------|-------------------|-----------------|-------------- -7-----8--------7--|---5h7-p5--------5\|---0-------------|-------------- -7--------7--------|---7----------7----|---0-----0-------|-------------- ----0--------0-----|-----------0-------|------0----------|-------------- -------------------|-------------------|------------4\2--|-------------- -0-----------------|---0---------------|---5-------------|-------------- arp. arp. arp. q q q e Q q e e e e e e q e e q ---------|-----------|--------------------|------------0--|------------- ---5--5--|---5h8--7--|---------------7h8--|---7-----------|------------- ---------|---6-------|---7--------7-------|---7-----7-----|------------- 7--------|---7-------|---0-----0----------|------0--------|------------- 0--------|---0-------|------0-------------|---------------|------------- ---------|-----------|---0----------------|---0-----------|------------- arp. arp. arp.
