Song: We Are 138 Band: Misfits CD: Collection II (It's probably on another CD but I'm not sure which) Written By: Glenn Danzig Tabbed and submitted By: Tennessee Grimes
There is a already a bass tab for this song which is correct, but the lines were kind of screwed up, at least on my computer. Also beginning guitarists might not realize that the guitar chords are the same as the bass notes, so I thought I'd make it a little clearer. I also included the solo. Use plenty of distortion.
Intro:
Hold this chord for a while \/ e-----------------------------------------| b-----------------------------------------| g--9--------9---9---9---9---5---7---------| :---------Figure 1 d--9--------9---9---9---9---5---7---------| a--7--------7---7---7---7---3---5---------| e-----------------------------------------|
We are 138
Repeat this riff without holding the first E chord. This isn't the exact number of E chords so listen to the CD. Then do this:
He's not screaming here it's just a long "are". On the second E chord (which comes on the 8 of 138) the tempo picks up a lot. I think it is doubled. The picking is all quick downstrokes. Figure 1 is repeated twice without vocals, then Glenn comes in again and repeats the whole intro with the guitar faster. At the end of this faster intro thing substitute in "eyes of tiger" for the long "we are 138". That's the first verse, the next verse is different. It looks like this:
Verse 2:
Do you think we're robot clean, does this face look almost mean
It is time to be an android not a man
Just play a lot of fast E chords for the first line. For the second repeat figure 2. The next verse is the same for the guitar:
The pleasantries are gone We're stripped of all we were
In the eyes of tiger
Now comes the solo. The rhythm guitar plays E under it: b b b b e-----12-----12-----12-----12-----12-----12--14-14-14-14-14-14-14-14-----| b-12-----12-----12-----12-----12-----12----------------------------------| g------------------------------------------------------------------------| d------------------------------------------------------------------------| a------------------------------------------------------------------------| e------------------------------------------------------------------------|
The b stands for bend, and the number of times these notes are hit is not exact so listen to the CD if you want to be exact. Repeat the whole intro twice, but with the faster tempo. Then for the outro Glenn just yells 8, 8, 8, lots of times, the guitar chords get shorter, I think this is called staccato or something. The guitar repeats figure 1. That's it. It's really an easy song, most people will probably be able to figure it out just given that the chords are E, C, and D. Send your corrections, info on raves in
