'Buskers' Version (Verses) ---------------------------
If you aren't playing in a band, the verses aren't very inspiring to play. Below are the 2 bars used in the verses, which include the bass line arranged for guitar. It may take practice to get the picking and string skips working together. The bracketed notes are optional - they aren't part of the bass line but fill out the wide interval skips, giving the part a fuller sound.
X - mute with palm of hand ~ - hold note ^ - emphasise note rake - exagerate the strumming of the chord (but not enough for it to be an arpeggio)
Notes ------
The song mix is pretty infuriating if you are trying to unravel what all the instruments are doing in it. The guitar is less prominant than the bass, drums and vocals. The drums contain alot of high-hat work and general percussion which can be mistaken for low level acoustic guitar.
The guitar has a clean tone throughout.
The guitar in the verses is very sparse, the bass and drums fill things out. The verses are nominally the same, slight differences are labelled as 'fills'.
The choruses are easier to hear, all are similar. The differences are labelled as fills. Make sure the open-E-string is emphasised (when indicated). All the notes are shown as occuring on a beat, this isn't strictly true, the guitar plays 'around' the beat - but it's as accurate as ascii tab can show, listen to the record to get the proper 'feel'.
The interlude may countain an acoustic guitar deep down in the mix. Its very difficult to hear exactly whats going on. The chords above the tab show what the guitar is likely to be playing.
