A Certain Slant of light by "The Tea Party" Off of the album "Splendor Solis" Transcribed by Mark Webber There are many guitars playing in this song, and in many parts of the song up to 3 guitars are playing at one time. Therefore I have not attempted to tab out every single guitar line in this song. Instead I have tabbed out the main part and what will sound the best when played with only one guitar, as I figure that you will probably just play it by yourself. If you ever attempt to play this song with multiple guitars, you can work it out yourself, as it is not that hard and you have the main part of the song to work with. This song uses an uncommon tuning low to high E A D F# A C#. My advice with using different tunings is to use a guitar with a fixed bridge. It will make life lots easier. Even if you practiced it on a steel string acoustic, it would be better than trying to re-adjust your tremolo, just to play this one song. Intro and through-out verses, let all strings ring out. C#------------------------0----------------------------------| A---------0---------0----------0-----------0-----------------| F#---0--------2----------------------2----------------------.| D-----------------------------------------------------------.| A------------------------------------------------------------| E------------------------------------------------------------| This bit is after the line "Celebrate the one you love" Its played quite fast. Remember to use hammer offs and pull ons properly. There are about 3 different guitars playing in this section, I've tabbed the main bit. *All bracketed notes in the Pre-chorus B are strummed on a steel string acoustic guitar on the original recording. Listen closely and you will hear it. The song: Intro. Verse 1 As the colours fade away, my love. As the darkness turns to day, above. Celebrate the one you love. Pre-Chorus A Verse 2 And she says she has a friend, inside. Shows her everything she tries, to hide. Please stop the pain inside. Pre-Chorus A Pre-Chorus B She don't know. Please stop her pain. I think she's coming down again, Chorus I hear the rain. She's coming down again, I hear the rain. Verse 3 And she's dancing with the hands, of fate. While she's sleeping with the one, she hates. And tonight they celebrate. Pre-chorus A Pre-chorus B (same as before} Chorus (same as before) And the rain still falls. Bridge Its falling down on me. Solo Pre-Chorus B (same as before} Chorus (same as before) Chorus She's coming down again (x4) I hear the rain. Well that's it, I hope it can be of use. Send any Comments, suggestions, |
