This is the improved version: new words and chord fix courtesy of Davide Musiani
The opening riff is kinda like:
-|--------------------- -|--------------------- -|--------------------- -|--------------------- -|--------7-5-7-5------ E -|---5-5----------7---- Repeated 8 times.
Then it goes into an A B E progression. 1 bar A, 1 bar B, two bars E. I play it kind of ska-like because I can't quite get the chunk-a-chunka rhythm from the record. Play the progression twice and then over the verses.
The place I love is a million miles away.
It's too far for the eye to see.
Still it's me at least, and you can't come there.
No one is allowed at all.
Only animals that love, will always, only ever could be.
And it's always in the back of my mind.
(riff 4 times)
The place I love is overgrown now,
with beautiful moss and colorful flowers.
And goldfish that swim in a pool, theres a small brick wall
With neon lightings controlled by lightning.
I'm makin' a stand against the world
There's those that would hurt us if they heard.
And it's always in the back of my mind.
(riff 4 times)
The place I love is nowhere near here.
Not within a yard of the trendy do's
Where dogsbodies pick you up, and graciously give you a lift
