I posted this song to OLGA last fall and have since revised some of the chords and corrected some of the notation. I had open strings shown the same as strings that are not played, with an 'x'. Will you please replace the version I posted before with this version, it is complete and much more accurate.
Beekeeper's Blues (S. Hoffs/D. Baerwald/D. Kitay) Vocal/Guitar: Susanna Hoffs
(London Records 422 828 820 2) (Trust me.... it's a very enjoyable CD!)
Performed on acoustic guitar and interpreted from live performance by Susanna Hoffs. This is partly my own interpretation based on the viewing of Ms. Hoffs in concert but most of the credit for this version belongs to
Note: I have posted a second version of Beekeeper's Blues here at OLGA which is for electric guitar and is also from a Susanna Hoffs concert & played by Ms. Hoffs. If you have anything to add to this or any other Susanna Hoffs song tabs (or Bangles tabs that aren't listed in OLGA) please send them to me.
*This is revised with slight chord changes (Mar/98)*
Ahhhhhhhhh......... Ahhhhhhhhh.........
You only call when you want money
And when I need you you're not there
Everybody else has written you right off
You make it hard to care
You're pretty hard to bear
Women think that you're a genius
'Till you get caught for who you are
I reeled you in and you ate me half alive
You were a future star
Who do you think you are
CHORUS ------
No good deed will go unpunished
No beekeeper goes unstung
And these boots were made for walking
They're walking back to you
What else can I do
I know you know that you're good-looking
And you're not known for too much else
I took you in and you left me half alive
Don't know what you do
Or who you do it to
When I'm gone someone will save you
When she gets tired there's always someone new
I reeled you in and you ate me half alive
You were a future star
Who do you think you are (Who do you think you are)
Ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba...da-da-da-da
Ba-ba-dup-ba-ba-dup-ba-da-dup-da
I reeled you in and you ate me half alive
You were a future star
Who do you think you are
CHORUS ------
No good deed will go unpunished
No beekeeper goes unstung
And these boots were made for walking
They're walking back to you
What else can I do
Ooh, huh-ho, Oh no, no
Walking back to you, walking back to you
Ooh-oh-oh, Walking back to you, walking back to you
